

Alan B Parkin 1955 - 2000
Alan died of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma on January 16, 2000 at the age of 44. He had 4 children and was well liked by many people and former classmates. He was a talented golfer and bowler. He spent the majoriy of his years doing estimations for commercial heating and air conditioning companies. He purchased a bowling alley in Brigham City prior to his death and managed that for several years. [From his brother Terry]
Alan B. Parkin
BOUNTIFUL - Alan B. Parkin, age 44, passed away Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000 of pneumonia from complications due to cancer in Bountiful, Utah.
He was born Oct. 18, 1955 in Salt Lake City, Utah to LeRoy P. and Veneice B. Parkin. He married Sharon Gibson, later divorced. Married Debbie Henderson, later divorced. Married Suzanne Velasquez, Jan. 23, 1998 in Brigham City, Utah. Alan spent most of his life in the South Davis area. During this time he worked for several air conditioning companies in the Davis and Salt Lake areas. In early 1993, he managed and ran the Brigham City Bowl in Brigham City for three years. In November, 1997, he started working for K-Mart in Brigham City, where he advanced to manager of their sporting department until forced to leave because of his illness in June, 1999.
Alan graduated from Viewmont High School and attended the Utah State University for several quarters. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Alan loved sports and excelled in golf and bowling. He was a junior member of Oakridge Country Club in Farmington for several years.
He is survived by his parents, LeRoy P. and Veneice B. Parkin, Woods Cross; his wife: Suzanne; children: Jay C and Morgan of Layton; Michelle and Jeremy of West Bountiful; step-children: Nicole, California; Celeste, Heather and Trent of Brigham City; brother: Terry, Heber City; sister: Jill Pope of Bountiful. Preceded in death by his grandparents and nephew, Brandon.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 20, 2000 at the Woods Cross First Ward Chapel, 2064 South 800 West, Woods Cross, Utah. Friends and family may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah and again Thursday morning from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
The family would like to express their many thanks to Dr. Regina Klein and her staff and Lakeview Hospital for all their many, many kindnesses, caring and exceptional help.
