Ray Otterstrom

1955 ~ 2025, Age 70

Ray Grant Otterstrom wasborn on June 30, 1955 to Margaret Ann Nicholes (1928–1983) and Glen Otterstrom (1923–1973).  He died at home in Murray, Utah, on on October 11, 2025 at the age of 70.   Ray never married.  His nieces and nephews were his sudo children.

He loved the theater. I think he did a few plays in high-school.  He did Camelot at the Shakespeare Festival in Cedar after high-school.  He traveled Europe in his 20's and loved Germany.  He was a stockbroker for various firms including Scottrade and Swab in the 90's and early 2000's. He loved musicals, classic films, playing card and table games. Ray teased the idea of writing novels or working in the casinos as a Black Jack Dealer. He loved the Northern California Coast especially at sunset.  His second favorite was the mountain after a fall rainstorm with a cup of coffee.

He is survived by his siblings: Ann (Otterstrom) Lazenby, Gary Glen Otterstrom, Scott Kelly Otterstrom.

Ray was beloved by his family and friends. He was the favorite brother, cousin and uncle. Most of his nephews and nieces lovingly called him "Nanny Ray" as he would be there for them for homework help especially with English and math. He was full of light and love. He loved the musicals and theater. Hamlet was one of his favorites.

A celebration of life is in the works on what would be his 71st birthday, June 30th, 2026, most likely in San Francisco, CA.

Ray was one of my besties in school.   He was incredibly smart and very witty.   Lots of laughts with him but lost contact years later.   I am saddened by this loss and condolences to his family.   It doesn't surprise me he was beloved by his siblings, nieces and nephews.   God Speed Ray,
