Marlynn Burningham Schmidt 1955 - 2002
Our beloved Marlynn Burningham Schmidt, age 46, of Centerville, Utah, was reunited with loved ones who passed before her on April 17, 2002 in her home surrounded by her family after a long, hard-fought battle with breast cancer.
She was born August 23, 1955 to Carolyn Huffman and M. Burt Burningham of Bountiful, Utah. She attended Viewmont High School and Weber State University. She married John Schmidt in the Salt Lake Temple February 6, 1975.
Marlynn was in the food business for many years and was a master salesman and organizer. She loved her job and the people at Intermountain Foods. She was an energetic, lively, selfless person who was always thinking of and doing things for others. Her generosity and compassion has touched the lives of many. Marlynn received Utah's first experimental sibling stem cell transplant for breast cancer. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the financial support, time and other donations made in her behalf to make this possible. The outpouring of love and support was truly amazing and overwhelming. They would also like to thank the staff of the LDS Hospital Bone Marrow Transplant Unit for their care and compassion.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, John, who lovingly attended to her care for many months; three daughters, Jonalynn (Kelly) Edgar, Tooele; Heather and Keriann of Centerville; parents; sister, Laurel Beazer; three brothers, Grant, Alan and Tyler Burningham and their spouses and children. She was preceded in death by grandparents, mother-in-law, aunt, niece and cousin. Her courage and strong spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
